Arranging to attend Anime Expo 2012

April 14, 2012 in General Anime

Anime Expo 2012 is in Las Vegas from June 29th to July 3rd. I Can’t wait to go since this will be my first time so I hope to get it arranged, below are 3 videos on the 2011 Expo taken from a fan although he does cover one of the most important parts of the expo which is the costumes – I wish he had covered other parts.

Costumes

All the costumes were great in this video, I do disagree with non Japanese animation being included in an anime expo especially since the whole point is to promote Japanese animation in America but he really did a great job showcasing the best cos-play costumes.

Video 1

Several good characters like Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask from Sailor Moon, Mew Mew Lettuce from Tokyo Mew Mew, several others.

Video 2

1:54 ruined the video, why was it included?

Many more good costumes and, as usual, a ton of Hatsune Miku costumes

Video 3

This was the best in my opinion, lot’s of good costumes

Re-watched Sailor Moon Live Action Episode 29

December 7, 2011 in Sailor Moon

I just got finished re-watching Sailor Moon live-action – episode 29 a few minutes ago. It was a rather boring episode but it introduced a new character who’s pretty important and Sailor Mercury was awakened so it had several important events in it.

They could have made it a little more interesting though, I still don’t like Sailor Luna that much but I’m getting used to her and it took me a while to get used to her before as well, she’s just really out of place.

The next episode begins a new segment (segment 3) which is the “dramatic” segment, for a recap:

  • Episodes 1-9 are about introducing the core characters one-by-one and getting them together plus get into some very vague details on the enemy
  • Episodes 11-20 expand on the characters and their history and largely expand upon the enemy
  • Episodes 21-29 focus heavily on The Moon Kingdom and it’s connections to present day, many many major events happen in this segment including substantial details regarding Prince Endymion and Princess Serenity

So the next segment will be episodes 30-39 which put all the previous segments behind us and focus on the real “meat” of the story-line. A lot of action, drama, and such will be heavily focused into this segment.

The usual last-part of the watched episode is below:

Codename Sailor V – Sailor Moon Backstory

November 17, 2011 in Sailor Moon

Most Sailor Moon fans are familiar with “Codename Sailor V” which is one of the Sailor Moon Backstories. If you’ve watched the anime or the live-action you probably noticed that there were the sailor soldiers and then their was Sailor V. The two never really got together but remained separate throughout most of the storyline.

Sailor V, for the people who don’t know, was sort of like Sailor Moon. She was a famous crime fighter in Japan and her signature was a red bow and a big red eye mask. Sailor V was only released as a manga (Japanese Comic Book) but was what Sailor Moon was based off of.

Sailor Moon is actually a continuation of Sailor V, although under an entirely different series, it’s essentially where most of the ideas, characters, and storyline events come from. Sailor V, of course, was directly copied to the Sailor Moon series with only a few changes – particularly in her personality.

This is also why, in the anime, Sailor Moon is seen playing Sailor V Video games since two storyline’s were running side-by-side. In the live action, Act 1 starts off with Sailor V performing her usual crime fighting that she did in the Manga before Sailor Moon.

Her signature bow and red eye mask was also kept from the previous storyline however, in the anime version of Sailor Moon, she drops the name “Sailor V” and her signature appearance to become “Sailor Venus” with a normal appearance. In the live action she drops the name but not the appearance.

Finished Tokyo Mew Mew – Episode 7

September 30, 2011 in Tokyo Mew Mew

I finished Tokyo Mew Mew Episode 7 where a new main character was introduced. I like all the main characters up until now but I’m not sure I’ll like this new main character because of her immaturity.

The team consists of 4 people, one is highly sophisticated and comes from an extremely wealthy family, not much is known about the 2nd one but she had some kind of clinical depression issue which was cured by Ichigo’s healing power at the very beginning now revealing a very calm and down-to-earth mature person. The 3rd character is Ichigo herself who the story revolves around, her personality and lifestyle was copied from Sailor Moon.

This new main character is an immature kid who specializes in performances. I really hope he doesn’t ruin the show in general since it’s been great so far.
