Finished Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko – Episode 3

October 3, 2011 in denpa onna to seishun otoko

This post is a bit delayed but I finished the episode, I’m beginning to really like the anime. In this episode the guy decides to force reality into her by telling her to do the extra-terrestrial abilities she claims she can do. He knows she can’t do it and everyone else has given up on her but he’s determined to prove to her the cold hard way that she’s not an alien.

Keep in mind she thinks she’s an alien because she mysteriously disappeared one very random day and didn’t show back up until 6 months later with no memory of the time-gap. She couldn’t mentally deal with this so she manifested this story that she’s a messenger from outer-space and never was human, after manifesting this story she was able to cope somewhat with reality but separated herself from everyone and continuously hides behind a futon (Japanese bed on floor)

The visiting relative is determined to help her and in this episode, as mentioned above, force reality into her. He put’s her onto his bicycle and tells her to make the bike fly as she claims she can do, he then proceeds to ride off the edge of the hill into the ocean. As expected, she couldn’t make the bike fly and they crashed into the ocean. Reality didn’t sink in but it certainly made an impression on her and she’s now beginning to question this manifestation she created.

This was a very touching episode especially when she bursts out crying at the end. I definitely would recommend this anime to others so far.

Finished Tokyo Mew Mew Episodes 5 & 6

September 30, 2011 in Tokyo Mew Mew

I’ve finished Tokyo Mew Mew episodes 5 & 6, so far I really like the series. I found Episode 6 particularly of interest since it featured an English character who couldn’t speak Japanese. I’ve seen English characters in some anime before but they always could speak Japanese, usually fluently.

This character couldn’t utter a word of Japanese to save her life and she played a central role in this episode so it was both interesting and funny, she’s also from San Fransisco, America.

Ichigo was so funny trying to speak English to her:

Mary in English: “Is he here?”

Ichigo in English: “I am a Ichigo”

Lettuce in Japanese: “Your not suppose to put an “a” in front of your name”

Mary in English: “Ichigo?”

Ichigo in English: “Strawberry”

Mary in English: “What does that mean?”

Ichigo in English: “This is a pen!” **Random English line learned in school

Lettuce in Japanese: “I’ll get some help”

Ichigo in Japanese: “Wait, don’t leave me here!”

Instead of the usual last part I thought I’d give the first part instead below but the scene mentioned above is at the end of the clip (If you want to skip to it, it’s starts at position 5:34):

Asatte no Houku – A good video

This is another good video based on Asatte no Houka that a fan made. It’s not as good as the first one Link Here but I found it also really brings out the depth of the storyline.

Asatte no Houku – Really moving video

September 18, 2011 in Asatte no Houkou

This is a really good Fan-Made video about Asatte no Houku. For those of you who don’t know (you can read the full description by clicking the “Current Anime List” link here or at the top of each page and scrolling to the section)  A brief summary is provided below:

Asatte no Houku is a very serious anime. By serious I mean there’s no over-acting and any “action” period is virtually non-existent. Each episode is extremely serious, very emotional, and very moving. It’s about a girl who wishes to be older in front of an old stone and a town visitor who wishes to be younger. The 2 people swap ages.

From here on out everything is non-fiction (that was the only fictional event in the anime), the anime suddenly get’s very down-to-earth facing real life challenges and events plus all of the hardships in life. You find out more about each character and and the tragedies in each of they’re lives.

Each episode contains very little to no action but is deeply moving and depressing at the same time. The video below best summarizes this:

Shinryaku! Ika Musume – Funny Epsidoe

September 17, 2011 in Shinryaku! Ika Musume

This is the last part of Episode 6 where things get slightly complicated for the lifeguard.

Ika Musume has a crush on the new waitress because she is the only person who fears her but the new waitress has a crush on the life guard who has a crush on the restaurant chef. To make matters more complicated, some girl who frequently visits the beach and restaurant has a crush on Ika Musume but Ika despises her because she doesn’t fear her.

All these people end up in the restaurant at the same time, it’s hilarious.

The video is below, (the frequent visitor girl mentioned above is actually an obsessed stalker who fell in love with Ika from the very beginning. She has a brief appearance at the beginning and end of the clip and takes a big role in making each show funny.)
